Apart from our natural course of pollution control services of hazardous waste management, the company is also engaged in various R&D activities and in the same line we made a presentation of our R&D work of utilisation of tannery’s ETP solid waste ( free from Cr-6) before MoEF,GOI in the presence of Secretary MoEF & Secretary, DST, GOI, CLRI,CRRI,CPCB and many directors from MoEF on 10th August 2010 wherein a pilot study road was approved to be developed inside Landfill Facility/CETP which has recently been approved by National Highway Authority of India( NHAI) vide their letter no. NHAI/CGM(TIC)/Trial Stretch/2012 dated 21-8-2012 whereby NHAI will develop a stretch of 200 meters connecting it from Secured Landfill Facility to NH-25 as surveyed by them but they finally denied to make the pilot road using this waste beyond the clear reasons known to us.
In another R&D activity of our SPV we had interacted with a Dutch Holding Company who launched their company in India as M/s Maris Environment Projects (India) Private Limited (MEPI) as per the guidance & relations of this company with our Chairman Padma Shree Irshad Mirza, and MEPI Netherlands shared its technology under a separate MOU whereby our SPV(IISL) provided fleshing to oil technology and MEPI sandwiched bio-methanation from waste protein of fleshing after oil recovery.
The SPV Leather strived hard to make this project successful but MEPI could not supply & erect the committed capacity based plant. The pilot plant erected by them at our site was not in position to handle 40 tonnes/day fleshing and it was merely a laboratory capacity like system of hardly 1 ton/day capacity;hence the project was closed as MEPI denied to invest funds further. Though the R&D of this project has been proven to a level but its economic viability is to be further studied by Maris group of Netherlands before launching any such project anywhere in the world. Since there was no investment of our SPV in this venture, the closure of the project did not result as any losses to us.
